Our Standards

Editorial Guidelines

These are the standards every page on Cappuccino vs Latte is held to. They exist so you can trust what you read here.

Accuracy first

Every comparison is built on a consistent, measurable framework — espresso shots, milk and foam ratios, caffeine, calories, serving size, taste and texture. We describe typical preparations and clearly flag when a number is an approximation that varies by café, cup size or number of shots.

Consistency across pages

A figure should mean the same thing everywhere on the site. Caffeine reflects the number of espresso shots rather than drink size; calories assume a standard whole-milk preparation unless stated. This lets you compare any two drinks fairly, even across different pages.

Independence

  • Verdicts are never sold. No brand can pay to "win" a comparison.
  • Any affiliate or sponsored link is clearly disclosed and never changes our conclusions.
  • We distinguish objective facts (ratios, caffeine) from preference-based guidance.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and update the page. If you believe a page contains an error, please contact us and we will review it promptly.

Reviews & updates

Comparisons are reviewed periodically and refreshed as café norms evolve — for example, as double-shot defaults and plant-milk options become more common. Seasonal topics such as iced drinks are revisited around their peak months.
