Cappuccino ratio (1:1:1)
A cappuccino is an espresso drink built from equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam. The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) defines the classic cappuccino as a 150–180 ml (5–6 oz) drink with a single espresso shot and a thick foam cap.
Taste: bold, roasty, and airy — the small milk volume lets the espresso flavor stay forward.
Dry vs wet: a dry cappuccino carries more foam and less steamed milk; a wet cappuccino carries less foam and more milk, moving it closer to a latte. Use the chips above to see the ratio shift.
